Every September the St. Leger Festival is celebrated with spectacular racing, in stunning surroundings making it a truly historic occasion.

The St. Leger was first run in 1776, making it the oldest classic race anywhere in the world.  As the only classic race in the North of England, for four days every September, it’s the place to be seen!

Thursday 12th September – Ladies Day.  The ultimate in glitz and glamour, this is one of South Yorkshire's biggest social occasions. Naturally there will be an abundance of stylish and beautiful Women all hoping to win the Best Dressed Lady crown.

Friday 13th September – Gentlemen’s Day.  The penultimate day attracts some of the most prestigious racing of the week, with the Doncaster Cup taking centre stage.  Who will take the title of Best Dressed Man on Gentlemen’s Day?

Saturday 14th September – St Leger Day.  The World's oldest Classic Race brings the festival to a dramatic finale, with the 1 mile 6 furlong St Leger. Last year the all conquering Frankie Dettori won the race on unbeaten Logician the 5/6 favourite, giving trainer John Gosden his fifth winner of the race.

Principle Sports are proud to offer a stunning restaurant within the heart of the racecourse.
